BB Advantech Quick Tester Application

Purpose

Install and configure the Quick Tester desktop application from BB Advantech so as to be able to identify hardware issues in setups such as the ones described in the following knowledge article:

Prerequisites

For this guide you need the following:

  • Suitable vehicle or engine simulator.

  • Cable connecting BB streamer to vehicle or engine simulator, i.e. one of the BB Y-Cables, e.g. LDVYCBL, D99Y or D66Y.

  • Serial to USB cable connecting BB streamer to laptop.

  • Laptop running Windows.

Instructions


Step 1:

Download the Quicktester software: http://dev.davranetworks.com/downloads/Quicktester2_0_19_Customer_ppp


Step 2:

Change file extension to .exe.


Step 3:

Connect the streamer and cables as required to the vehicle / engine simulator and your laptop.


Step 4:

Wait for Windows to discover the connected streamer or use the Device Manager to manually do so.


Step 5:

Run Quicktester2_0_19_Customer.exe


Step 6:

Configure the settings as required. Example screenshots below. Note: Enabling logging is mandatory for this to function properly.


Tip: If you can't get a connection working, try with another USB / comm port as well.
