Set up email response for emergencies

One of the many thing you can do with RuBAN is provision a device to send an email to anyone if the device goes below certain parameters.

For example if you go to Admin > Onboard Automation > Cellular 3G > Signal Strength (RSSI)
Here I will make a policy with specific parameters and send it to which ever device I want to.

As you can see I have set the parameters on the right hand side.

This policy is going to lookout and see if the signal strength of the device falls below 60 dbm for 1 minute.
If so, it will issue a critical warning.

On the next page I enable the settings to be allowed to send an email;

The necessary fields are the mail servers IP address, the email of the person whom the mail will come from, the email of the person whom the mail will be sent to and of course the message itself.
So we have a message going from Joe Quinn to Daniel Dold through a mail server of 192.168.180.142
In order for this to work and successfully receive mails the RuBAN server has to be able to communicate with the mail server.

After that just continue on with creating your policy and connect it to a device.
If the settings are configured properly you should be receiving mails in no time.
